大家都知道第一印象的重要性。老美是很講效益的，但和人第一次見面時，他們往往會先問一些無關緊要的問題。這叫做"Breaking the ice(establish a rapport )"。
求職面試的時候他們也是一樣，一見面通常都會問：
How are you today?
Did you have any trouble finding this place?
How did you get here?
是不是爲面試官友好的問話和語調感到吃驚了?其實他們只是想讓你放鬆一下，讓面試在一個輕鬆的氣氛中開始，所以你也只需客套的回答一下就可以，例如"Fine, thank you."之類。
面試時最重要的部分是談你的experience and qualifications。qualification包括你所受過的教育和培訓，而experience就是你曾經做過的、與你要申請的工作有直接或間接關係的工作經歷。
對於換工作跳槽的人來說，教育都是發生在過去的事情，所以記住要用過去時態來講。例如：
I attended the University of California from 1992 to 1996.
I graduated with a degree in social science.
如果你目前還是個學生，那麼就應該用現在時來談。例如：
I am currently studying at the University of Chicago and will graduate with a degree in computer science in this fall.
I am studying English at City College of New York.
當談你受的教育時，可別忘了提起你參加過的培訓、得過的證書和選過的一些和這份工作有關的課程。
例如你要應聘國際貿易類的`工作就一定要提correspondence courses, BEC Certificate等等。
如果你的工作要求你用英語溝通的話，你還得特別提到你英語的嫺熟程度或告訴對方你是如何在這方面做努力的。同樣對於使用其他語言的工作也是如此。

涉及到公司名字，一律以 ABC 代替; 涉及到產品，一律以 XXX 代替
1. tell us about how do you think of the firm and why you are looking for a firm like us
1) ABC is the leading XXX producers in the world. The firm has rich product lines which means data application would be rich here.
2) ABC must hire the best people around the world . I think that will make me learn more and quick in order to keep pace with the firm. Learning makes me feel better.
2. why do you think you fit this position
1) I have developed much data applcation projects around the information system , including oltp and olap of the applications are performing well.
2) I have similar experiences when I was building data warehousing system at ABC. Its a cosmetics industry and have millions of users in china.
3) with 3 projects working with foreign teams I have experience to communicate with them and make the project be delivered in time.
4) years ago I began to lead a datawarehouse team to deliver the bi applications , including ETL projects and reporting projects.
and now I lead4 members to design etl and reporting projects at ABC group.
3. which experience do you think you have done great well in the past few years
a) improve the system performance and keep the complain rate from users lower down
here is what i did:
1) migrate the ETL jobs scheduled at the night window time so that little comflict between read and write operations on database
2) migrate the logging database to mongodb which has replication implemented
3) migrate the full text search from oracle to elasticsearch
4) audit the sql statements and refine it if it has performance issues
b) establish the knowledge sharing with junior members so that they are ware of the sql programming best practices
4. what will you do to keep your pace with the company ?
1) learn from others
2) communicate with other effeciently
3) keep learning technology
5. what do you want to know about the company ?
1) why provides such a position ? what do you want from the data architect
2) what do you think of the data applications in the firm now, do you think these applications really improve the working efficiency ?
3) what is the challange in the data warehouse application , more detail would be better to know the key challange i would face
4) more business would be good since it will require more data applications from internal it department.
5) would my boss give more rights to me so that i can take a lead on the project and learn from mistakes and make the projects better.
6. what mistakes you made last year or last project
1) not keep the requirements very clear from users. key users always want their requirements fulfilled today and see the apparence tommorrow morning. sometime we make a sacrifies which means a lot of extract working time. but i think it depends more on users and espically key users and some of them are c-level users.
2) didnt ask for more resource from outside. I think if more skilled people are hired the project would be done in time and efficiency
ask for more reasonable resources from my boss . that would give a big lesson I should overcome next project.
3) try to get more knowledge about business ,look forward and figure out the big picture on business , that would help us to design more adaptive data solutions
7 what do you think you should do as a team player
1) you must learn somthing really hard and be good at that thing. you musht have an outstanding skills at your team, better if more
2) try to master all of the skills used in the project and as well as the business , try to fix any issues whenever possible.
3) help team members to archive the level I have and catch the skills others have, learn from each other and help each other
4) junior team members would have some obstacle on sql programming I would help them and share technique knowledge with them
5) if i have some problems on any skills i would ask help from google first , if not lucky, i would ask help from team members who is good at resolving it , like git, deploy building up scripts and so on
